Juanita McLauchlan | Art in the Bush: 80 Years of Regional Arts NSW
4–26 November 2026
Fountain Court, Parliament of New South Wales, Sydney
CASSANDRA BIRD is delighted to announce that work by Juanita McLauchlan will be featured in Art in the Bush: 80 Years of Regional Arts NSW, a landmark exhibition celebrating eight decades of regional artistic practice and cultural contribution across New South Wales.
Presented by Regional Arts NSW, the exhibition brings together artists whose practices reflect the diversity, creativity and cultural richness of regional communities, highlighting their significant contribution to Australia's artistic landscape.
A Gamilaraay artist living and working on Wiradjuri Country in Wagga Wagga, McLauchlan's multidisciplinary practice explores the intersections of memory, identity, family and cultural continuity. Through a deeply personal visual language, she draws upon familial histories, inherited knowledge and material traditions to create works that speak to connection, belonging and the enduring presence of First Nations culture.
McLauchlan's inclusion in this significant anniversary exhibition recognises the vital role of regional artists in shaping contemporary Australian art and the importance of amplifying diverse voices and perspectives.
