CASSANDRA BIRD was proud to have gallery artist Grace Lillian Lee selected for Installations at the landmark 10th edition of Sydney Contemporary, held at Carriageworks, Redfern.
Grace Lillian Lee presented the major sculptural installation Suggoo Pennise (2021), created in collaboration with Dr Ken Thaiday Snr and Allan George Lee. Drawing upon Torres Strait Islander cultural knowledge, dance and sculptural traditions, the installation explored lineage, connection and the intergenerational transmission of culture.
