Remy Faint and Grace Lillian Lee Featured in Installations at the 2026 Sydney Contemporary

CASSANDRA BIRD was proud to have gallery artists Remy Faint and Grace Lillian Lee selected for Installations at the landmark 10th edition of Sydney Contemporary, held at Carriageworks, Redfern.

Curated by José Da Silva, Director of UNSW Galleries, Installation Contemporary presented ambitious, large-scale works by leading contemporary artists from across Australia. The inclusion of Faint and Lee offered each artist an expanded platform to engage with architecture, materiality, cultural memory and place beyond the traditional art fair booth.

Grace Lillian Lee presented the major sculptural installation Suggoo Pennise (2021), created in collaboration with Dr Ken Thaiday Snr and Allan George Lee. Drawing upon Torres Strait Islander cultural knowledge, dance and sculptural traditions, the installation explored lineage, connection and the intergenerational transmission of culture.

Remy Faint’s installation extended his ongoing exploration of language, movement, memory and cross-cultural exchange. Through his distinctive material vocabulary, Faint considers how histories are carried, translated and transformed across time and place.

We were delighted to see both artists recognised within this significant curated program.
