ROBBY BENNETT

Fishers Ghost Finalist - Campbelltown Arts Centre
Congratulations to Robby Bennett, whose painting A Reflection of Venus, 2026, has been selected as a finalist in the 2026 Fisher’s Ghost Art Award.

Now in its 64th year, the annual award and exhibition celebrates artists working across a diverse range of mediums. The prestigious Open Award is valued at $50,000, with the winning work acquired for the Campbelltown City Council Art Collection.

A Reflection of Venus was presented in Bennett’s recent solo exhibition, Places of Delight, at CASSANDRA BIRD. The exhibition saw Bennett expand upon his distinctive visual language, bringing together antiquities, pastoral imagery and still-life traditions in a richly imaginative exploration of memory, symbolism and perception.

Historical artefacts, fragments of landscape and symbolic objects are woven together through expressive painterly gestures, creating works that are both visually arresting and deeply evocative. Moving fluidly between observation and invention, Bennett constructs captivating pictorial worlds in which the familiar and imagined coexist, inviting contemplation and discovery.
