We a proud to announce that a number of our represented artists have been selected as finalists for the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman prizes for 2025 at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
GENE A'HERN
Gene has been selected as a finalist in the 2025 Sir John Sulman Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. His work, Sky Painting (2025), unfolds through a ceremonial choreography—sensing scale and colour—as I immerse myself in sky-watching and the surrounding reflections of the environment. The work draws on charged memories: forests in mist, shifting branches, birds singing in harmony, scratching surfaces, rocks colliding, and the brushing of leaves in the wind—all forming a living, breathing landscape.
JEDDA DAISY-CULLEY
Jedda has been selected as a finalist in the 2025 Sir John Sulman Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales with her striking work The Beastliness of Her Soul Shifting (2024), featured in the exhibition The Voyage – See Our Reality Anew. Drawing on the vibrant textures of the natural world, her work evolves to depict the female body as its own landscape—a resilient vessel of creation, bearing witness to the quiet power of transformation. Through phantasmal tropes, Culley shape-shifts her lived experiences into forms as layered and complex as womanhood itself.
JUANITA MCLAUCHLAN
Juanita has been selected as a 2025 finalist for the Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales with her captivating work Wabuwi / Weather Spirit (2025). Crafted from wool, possum fur, and thread, this piece is part of guurrama-li / stand strong, an exhibition that explores ancestral knowledge, cultural identity, and McLauchlan’s profound connection to Country. Rooted in her Gamilaraay identity, her work reflects on family, history, and the preservation of intergenerational ties, capturing the spirit of Wiradjuri Country in Wagga Wagga, where she lives and works.
