Robby Bennett is a Sydney-based artist whose vibrant, expressive paintings blend personal memory with rich references to art history and literature. Known for his dynamic brushwork and striking use of colour, Bennett creates compositions that balance chaos and harmony, inviting viewers into a space of emotional depth and playful exploration. His work delves into the intersection of individual and collective experience, using symbolism and layered texture to explore themes of transformation, resilience, and shared humanity.
Bennett holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from the National Art School (2015) and First Class Honours from Sydney College of the Arts (2016), where he received both the John McCaughey Prize and the Dean’s Choice Award. His work has been exhibited nationally, with recent solo and group exhibitions including Open House at SODA + AHNESS in Adelaide (2023), No Punchline at Peach Black Gallery in Sydney (2022), and While We’re Still Here at Ambush Gallery in Canberra and Waterloo (2021).
